Slouched in a depression
Staring up at the ceiling
I reach out my hands above me
The daylight falls on my palm
I reach into the empty air
Hymns lull me into the emptiness of space and time
Horizontal lines on the window stare me down
Numbers on the wall is my heartbeat
Eyes wide and moist
Flightless in the nest
Dreaming of green fields and blue skies
There are no chains, just bad habits
No sentence, just dependence
No bars, just distance
No dream, there is no dream
The day shines bright
But where is the light?

Falling Leaves
From a thousansd miles away she wakes
A world of possibility waits
She steps into the brightness of a new morning
She is strong yet she is fragile
Always trying to prove herself
Struggling to bloom in a world of loud palettes
But her presence is the gentle hue that inspires
She thinks that the world is filled with gloom,
Her silent pain is the world's contempt
Yet she shines like the sun
She is the vision, the muse and inspiration
She remains unsure, oh if she could only see
She is the song that keeps the world together
And she doesn't know how much she is loved
But she is my only hope
A world of possibility waits
She steps into the brightness of a new morning
She is strong yet she is fragile
Always trying to prove herself
Struggling to bloom in a world of loud palettes
But her presence is the gentle hue that inspires
She thinks that the world is filled with gloom,
Her silent pain is the world's contempt
Yet she shines like the sun
She is the vision, the muse and inspiration
She remains unsure, oh if she could only see
She is the song that keeps the world together
And she doesn't know how much she is loved
But she is my only hope
