I've been barking up the wrong tree
Even though I'm sure there's nothing up there
No, there's nothing there
But I persist
and persist
and persist
Why do we want what we can not have?
And what's wrong with it?
Isn't life's beauty in the endless struggles,
in making real the could-have-beens,
in chasing the impossible.
Will you challenge those who don't want to accept life's limitations,
those who believe that nothing is impossible,
the dreamers and the believers?
Will you sympathize with them? Empathize?
Wish you could be more like them?
Or feel sorry for them?
There's a dreamer in all of us
Some of us realize where to draw the line,
some live in their own world,
and some dream with their eyes open.
