Dawn

I crept out from the crowd
And followed you into the hall
Asked if you'd like to take a stroll
That gentle smile said everything I needed to know

We walked around in the moonlight
Sharing bits & pieces of our worlds
Finding ourselves in the other's
Convincing ourselves more and more

At the back of our heads is a silent voice
A reminder of the reality we seem to have forgotten
It trickles a bit of sadness in our hearts
But it breathes life to the night's amber

Perhaps it's the full moon's glare
Or the evening cold that drives such crazy thoughts
But as scared as I am to admit it
It is you whom I want to be with

What will they say if they knew
That all I want is to be with you
After everything has been said and done
Will the world ever understand?

But as daylight creeps in
Your smile, your eyes
Time stops and for an eternal moment
Your lips, my touch

Bonds break
I close my eyes
You are all I see
I will hold you through the dark
